William H. "Bill" Schmidt of Hope, North Dakota and his wife, Rita, of Lakota, ND make their home in Fargo. They are the parents of two sons; Lt. Eric Schmidt, USAF and wife Laura, of Minot, ND and Gregg Schmidt and wife Martha who reside in Rapid City, SD with their son Will.

Bill has been in professional funeral service practice all of his life since graduating from the University of Minnesota. Before returning to the F-M area, he operated Anderson-Schmidt Funeral Home in Windom, MN for over 25 years.
